HOWDY!!!! I felt a little like Minnie Pearl there for a minute. She was a Grand ole opry star back in the early 80's when I saw her and I'm sure she was around a lot longer before I ever heard of her. Little history lesson and yes, I know I have told many people that I don't like country music and I don't but I do know who some of them are. Remember my dad is a big country fan but of older country music not the newer stuff. Anyway Just thought I'd log in and let a few thing fly around for the two of you to read.
I have been thinking again (yes that was why the black clouds where over the Carolina's I started a fire in my head.) And my thoughts were on family. I have a very big family. On my dad's side anyway. He has two half- brothers Uncle Bud and Uncle Billy Charles, Then he has a half sister, Aunt Becky. I get along great with Aunt Becky . We have been writing to her and she calls every now and then. Uncle Billy Charles used to visit every Sunday when we lived in Florida when we first got down there but stooped after we moved from the big house on Grand Blvd. We haven't seen Uncle Bud since he lived in Missouri in that wonderfully large house he called Windy Hill. Uncle Bud has 5 children, Michael, Karen, Susan, Sandra and Jeff. I don't know anything about them so I cant tell you much. Aunt Becky had 5 children also, Donna,Charles,Helen,Teena and Lynn. These people I know a little more about. Donna married Kevin and basically helped us move to Florida in 1987. I don't know if that was a blessing or not and I'm still not sure (just joking). Ok I admit I don't much about Charles but I know he got married and has a daughter somewhere. Helen got married and moved to Canada living happily there with her husband, A Minister and a daughter (she's a Minister as well).
I must confess I do not remember Helen since she left early. Teena is next and Someone I look up to. She is a very special person to me and I'm not gonna say she's my favorite but she's up there. She's married to John and has two kids Ryan and Bekka. I got along So well with Bekka that week I stayed with them before I came home last year. She filled in a lot of missing links to my Grandmother before she died. And then there is Lynn, named after my dad kinda, that's what every one was told. He is married and has two boys. We just got hooked back up with him so I don't have too much info on him. I remember summer days when we would pack up the car and drive down to Missouri to see Aunt Becky and everyone and my sister and I would pester the two youngest Teena and Lynn. We were pests back then too we were very little 6-11 I think. I wonder whatever happened to a few of them, Like Michael, One of Uncle Bud's kids. Actually I would like to know where they all are really and I'd like to finally meet Helen.
See my dad started all this with his genealogy stuff I'm starting to get interested in who his father was and persons on that side of the family. But it's hard and I have met a few but I was so young back then and most of them are dead now so I don't get to ask questions. Just sentimental I guess...
